The
fashion designer released a self-titled fragrance exclusively in New York department
store Barneys on (11.12.12) and will collaborate with the store to
create new designer perfumes each year.
However,
L'Wren - who is dating Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger – says she didn't
just put her name on the label like other celebrities, and has been dabbling in
perfumery since the age of 17.
She
told WWD: "I knew what I wanted. [Perfumer] Ralf [Schweiger] was quite
surprised."
The
perfume's top notes include absinthe, star anise, coriander, mandarin and
marigold, while the heart features tuberose, jasmine, geranium, curry and clove
buds, and finally, the drydown is made up of Brazilian patchouli, musk,
leather, amber and moss.
L'Wren
plans a global business with the perfumes, in addition to her thriving fashion
line.

Lagerfeld, followed by lingerie label Victoria's Secret in third. Alice
