have named a coat after the Duchess of Cambridge
The
Italian haute couture brand have paid tribute to Duchess Catherine by naming
one of their outerwear pieces The Kate.
The
Duchess wore the beige cashmere coat from the label during a visit to Cambridge
last November and as a result, it sold out instantly. Now, as a mark of thanks,
the label has reissued the coat and renamed it after her. The
knee-length piece has a high neck and a bow-fronted belt and is available from
the Italian label's diffusion line, MaxMara Studio.

Largerfeld stars in a new video game
The
online game 'Je Veux Les Lunettes De Karl' - challenges players to try and
remove the Chanel creative designer's trademark sunglasses, which he is never
seen without.
The
challenge went live on Wednesday, giving people the chance to win free
Lagerfeld sunglasses or limited-edition Tokidoki figurines of the iconic
fashion designer.
The
fashion designer appears as a Tokidoki cartoon and is never seen without his
sunglasses in the game.
Players
have to click on his fast-moving figure in an attempt to remove his shades, and
if they are too slow he taps his foot impatiently.
The
game has been set up by Optic 2000, Karl's exclusive eyewear distributor in
France. Only French residents can claim prizes.

The 'Sex and the City' actress - whose character Carrie Bradshaw
was known for her love of Manolo Blahnik shoes - is teaming up with the fashion
brand's CEO George Malkemus to launch her own line of footwear called SJP.
The SJP range - which will be available exclusively in Nordstrom stores in the
US in 2014 - will also include chic handbags and trench coats, and the actress
revealed her line was inspired by the '70s and '80s.
The stylish star previously had her own clothing range, Bitten, at now-defunct retail chain Steve & Barry's. She also served as creative director for Halston until 2011.

Covergirl will release a 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' make-up line
The cosmetics brand has announced it will team with Lionsgate, the producers of the eagerly anticipated blockbuster movie - which stars Jennifer Lawrence as sprightly heroine Katniss Everdeen - on a new range inspired by the movie, called the Capitol Collection. It's not yet known what beauty products the line will entail, but in the films, residents of the fictitious Capitol are known for their bright, bold and eccentric-coloured make-up. Donatella Versace claims her style is high-maintenance
The Italian fashion designer admits she likes to look glamorous at all costs and can't remember the last time she wore flats, adding that the most important thing to her is taking care of her skin and her platinum blonde locks.
Speaking at the Vogue Festival at London's Southbank centre on (28.04.13), she said: "My style is not that big, I wear heels, tight pants and I wear diamonds. I stopped working with a personal trainer as he wouldn't let me smoke. I'm not like this genetically, I use tonnes of cream and take care of my hair and skin."

Beastie Boys are working on a memoir
The two
surviving members of the group - Mike Diamond, aka Mike D and Adam Horovitz,
aka Ad-Rock - have inked a deal to write about their career with the group, which
was cut short by the death of third member Adam Yauch aka MCA in May last year
from cancer.
The memoir
will reportedly be a loosely structured oral history split between the three
band members' voices and contributors from outside of the group.
The two band
members don’t want to make a straight memoir, and are aiming to make the book a
multidimensional experience, in kaleidoscopic frame of reference. Now, its just
wait to see how it will come up!

The singer is expecting her first child with husband Josh Duhamel and admitted it has changed her outlook on fashion. "There's a little one in my stomach so I've incorporated a lot more layering. Mark
Badgley and James Mischka have got married
Design duo
Badgley Mischka tied the knot on Friday (22.03.13) at New York City Hall,
after 28 years together. The sole witness at the low-key ceremony was Badgley's
twin sister, O'Hara.
The designers
first met at the renowned Parsons School of Design while they were honing their
craft, before launching their Badgley Mischka label in 1988 and branching out
into bridal wear in 1993.
The pair
invited 22 of their closest friends to join them after the ceremony at SoHo
bistro Raoul's, where they enjoyed a beautifully decorated wedding cake
courtesy of Sylvia Weinstock. Congrats, guys!

Frida Giannini has given
birth to her first child
The Creative Director of Gucci
and her husband Patrizio Di Marco - the label's president and CEO - welcomed
their daughter Greta into the world on March 2 and Frida is now taking time to
look after her newborn baby. A spokesperson from Gucci confirmed "both
mother and baby are doing well".
Frida, 40, last made an appearance on the catwalk two
weeks ago when she debuted Gucci's autumn/winter 2013-14 show during Milan
Fashion Week - the day before she left for her maternity leave - and it is
thought the new mother will return to work in June before the menswear show. Congrats, Frida! ;)

Tilda Swinton has become
the latest star of Chanel
The French fashion house's
creative director Karl Lagerfeld cast the Oscar-winning actress in iconic
brand's advertising campaign for the Paris-Edinburgh collection, the luxury
metiers d'art range of pre-fall ready-to-wear.
Karl chose Tilda because
her Scottish roots matches the collection's inspiration, and she is also
"a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance".
The shoot took place
earlier this month in the Chateau d'Ecouen, a castle from the Renaissance
period located near Chantilly, France.
Last year, Tilda starred in
a short futuristic fashion film, created by Paris-based photographer and artist
Katerina Jebb.
