5 reasons to buy a cardigan

… Every smart girl’s wardrobe needs one this season! Want to know why?

1- You’ll be prepared for any weather, from unexpected cold outside to even air conditioning.

2- They tend to be more figure flattering than swing jackets.

3- They’re less bulky than trenches.

4- They won’t mess up your hair and makeup like pullover sweaters.

5- You’ll be able to wear summer tank tops into fall.

Trend Alert: Sheer

The transparent look was all over the Fall/Winter 2012 runaways. Delicate fabrics like chiffon were mixed with muted colors and pastels to create a fairy-tale inspired look that’s ultra feminine and so much fun to wear. It’s really whimsical, ethereal, and not to mention sexy. Emilio Pucci, Marchesa and Marios Schwab has created the looks we are completely in love with. Pictures below will just explain to you why…

Street Style: The Essential Flannel
Plaid Flannel Shirt is always a classic and unbeatable option. Just because it’s one of the most popular fabrics used by designers and high streets alike, it doesn’t make it any less important.  You can wear it under or over just about anything, and that includes your suits!

Make a bid!
Madonna’s bra is under the hammer!  The infamous conical corset will be up for sale at British auction house Christie's, in London. The Jean Paul Gaultier designed piece with bugle beads, clustered sequins and beads at cups and hip line - which the 54 y-old singer wore on her 1990 'Blond Ambition' tour - was expected to fetch £15,000 yesterday but guess how much was it sold for? YES £30,000 !!  How much would you give to the green silk bustier if you were at the auction?

The TV presenter-and-model scooped the prestigious gong at the star-studded ceremony last night and was amazed her style was recognised once more. Beach à la Donatella

Versace is to launch underwear and beachwear collections for men and women for SS13, which will be sold in Versace boutiques and specialty stores across the world from January next year. Yay!

Surprise, surprise!
Florence Welch will perform with The Rolling Stones today (29.11.12).  The Florence and the Machine singer will duet with Mick Jagger on the band's iconic track 'Gimme Shelter' when the band perform the second of their '50 and Counting' show at London's The 02. The singer will fly in from Luxembourg for the show and jet straight out to Germany afterward, to continue her group's European tour. It seems she follows in the footsteps of R&B star Mary J. Blige who performed the song with the band on Sunday (25.11.12), while legendary singer-songwriter Eric Clapton is also lined up to appear at one of the anniversary shows. If you are lucky enough to be in London, don’t miss out!

Mick Jagger loves his capes

Mick Jagger likes clothes to "emphasise" his silhouette. The Rolling Stones front-man is known for his slim frame so says when he's performing on stage, he likes to show off his body as well as wearing clothes that allow him to move, specially capes.

"I've always done a kind of skinny silhouette because I am skinny; I don't have to worry about covering up fat bits! So you've got to emphasise your silhouette. But then sometimes you want, on top of that, clothes that have movement. So I've always done a lot of coats influenced by riding coats of the 18th or early 19th centuries - what the French call 'red in gote.' I do those with a small tail. Obviously I've done other more mad things. I've done capes and things”, he told WWD. Have a look on how Mick rocks his cape!

Rita Ora X Rihanna

Rita Ora has won a role in 'The Fast and the Furious 6'. The singer has been given the part of the villain in the latest film of the action franchise after impressing bosses in her audition and will star alongside Vin Diesel and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Rihanna - who made her acting debut in 'Battleship' - had initially wanted the role but her hectic schedule meant producers had to look elsewhere. Rita - who celebrated her 22nd birthday pn 27.11.2012 - recently spoke about her desire to get into acting: "Acting is something for the future. For now it's all about my music, but definitely in a few years.”

Which one would you prefer for the role, Rita or Rihanna?

Fashionistas put themselves up for auction to help victims of Hurricane Sandy

Victoria Beckham, Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Wintour are aiming to raise $185,000 to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. The trio have put themselves up for auction on website Charitybuzz.com, which has organized an initiative in conjunction with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) - of which Diane is president - and US Vogue, which is edited by Anna, for those affected by the storm by offering bidders the chance to spend time with them.
Victoria is offering people the chance to meet her backstage following her New York Fashion Week show in February, which is expected to fetch $20,000, and Diane is auctioning off a week-long stay at her Bahamas beach house, which is valued at $50,000.
Those looking to snap up an exclusive treat can also purchase a lunch date and tour of Diane's Meatpacking headquarters for up to $15,000. Fans of Anna will be drawn to her two-lot package, which is expected to generate $50,000 apiece. The first offering will give the winner the chance to meet the magazine editor on a private tour of the 2013 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Proceeds from the auction - which ends on December 5, and features nearly 150 lots - will go to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City and similar relief organizations in the tri-state area of Manhattan.

Diane von Furstenberg is the subject of a new book

The iconic designer is the basis for writer Camilla Morton's latest fashion fairy tale memoir series, which is this time a twist on the classic story, 'The Emperor's New Clothes'. The book tells the story of two young girls - Diane (based on the designer's life), and an Empress, who is struggling with her new royal duties. Although Camilla wrote the story, Diane drew the illustrations - deciding on the prints, colors and layout of each page.

Manolo Blahnik hates women in platform shoes

The Spanish-born designer - whose creations are worn by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Kylie Minogue - often says he does not mind what shoes women chose to wear, but he is not a fan of platforms on anyone. "I hate platforms. The young girl who is a bit chubby, or whatever, she thinks platforms make her look taller. But no, they just make her look weird”, he told The Guardian newspaper. Do you agree with him?
